CMA signs memorandum of Understanding for strategic co-op

Recently, the Chinese Medical Association (CMA) and the French Fondation Merieux held a signing ceremony for Memorandum of Understanding for the strategic cooperation between the two parties in Beijing. Mr. Alain Merieux, the president of Foundation Merieux, and Mr. Liu Yanfei, the vice president and secretary general of CMA, signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the Strategic Cooperation between two sides. Mr. Chen Zhu, the NPC vice chairman and president of CMA, and the ambassador of French Embassy Ms Sylvie Bermann in presence to witness this important ceremony.

It is also the new cooperation following " Hospital-Acquired Infection (HAI) program" between Ministry of Health of People’s Republic of China and bioMérieux. It will be a significant gift for 50th anniversary of Sino-French diplomatic relations next year, and will continue to promote Sino-French cooperation and exchanges in medical field, share the international experience and technology in the field of rational use of antibiotics, and further improve the scientific and standardized level on the rational use of antimicrobial agents in hospitals.

In the ceremony, President Chen Zhu gave a speech that signing this Memorandum of Understanding for their strategic cooperation is aiming at: 1) continue to promote Sino-French communication and cooperation in medical science; 2) to improve the rational use of antibiotics and control of nosocomial infections, and share the international achievement to provide medical services in the clinical diagnosis and treatment.

The two partners will carry out an interdisciplinary and comprehensive cooperation in the field of nosocomial infections, public health and rational use of antibiotics, and also infectious diseases and food-borne disease control. Hope that the strategic cooperation between the two sides will continue to enhance the friendship and unity between China and France in Medical field. Hope we can work together to carry out research, strength our communication and learn each other's experience to improve the clinical rational use of antibiotics in China and to make more contribution for ensuring patient safety and guaranteeing the health care.
