Migrant workers need to be innovative

Yu Xuewen, a deputy to the National People's Congress and president of Wuyi Organic Tea Corp in Zhejiang province, encouraged the new generation of migrant workers to be hardworking and innovative.

Yu, a former farmer, said that as young migrant workers flood into affluent regions and big cities for better salaries, he hoped they would seek opportunities for self-improvement as well, instead of focusing solely on earning more money.

Also, he said, the government should work to provide them chances for re-education.

He said that the new generation of migrant workers have greater job expectations and want more opportunities for career development.
