The failure to reform the Social Security System is a great pity

Economic writer Wu Xiaobo said the gap between the rich and poor in China is widening despite the GDP growing every year during the past 30 years.

Wu said the great achievements of China’s economic reform attracted worldwide attention, but the reform of the social security system is far from enough. The fact that the income of peasants and workers cannot keep up with the growth of national wealth implies the national wealth need to be redistributed fairly, openly and transparently.
