Hollywood movie to be filmed in Harbin

American movie studio Hollywood Movieworks signed an agreement with Harbin government to shoot the movie Modern Hotel in the northern Chinese city on November 18.

"We'd like to present the beauty of Harbin to the world through Hollywood stories," said John Robinson, the president of Hollywood Movieworks.

The movie revolves around stories of romance and secret agents, according to Robinson. It will be filmed on location at the real Modern Hotel, which was founded in 1906 and was the city's most glamorous hotel in the early 20th century.

Shooting will begin in the first half of next year, Robinson said.
