CPC official arrives in Ningxia for 50th founding anniversary

YINCHUAN -- Communist Party of China (CPC) senior official He Guoqiang arrived here Monday morning to mark the 50th anniversary of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.

He, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, arrived at the Hedong Airport of Yinchuan, the regional capital, at about 11 am.

He and the delegation he headed received warm welcome from the local officials and people.

Ningxia, covering about 66,000 square kilometers, was established on October 25, 1958. It has a population of 6.1 million, of whom 2.17 million, or 35.57 percent, are of the Hui ethnic group.
