Wushan County, Chongqing -- Wushan County plans to make full use of its rich tourism resources, especially the three little gorges along the crystal-clear Daning River, to create a new tourism route to increase locals' income, said Zheng Ping, the head of Wushan County in Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality.
Zheng explained that the route will connect three popular scenery sites - Three Gorges Dam, Shennongjia in the Shennongjia area in Central China's Hubei Province and the Three Little Gorges along Daning River, one branch of Yangtze River in Wushan County.
The county is trying to upgrade the infrastructures, such as highways and airports, and work with some companies to better promote the historical traditions behind those picturesque places.
At the end of Three Little Gorges, visitors will come to the Dachang Town, a replica of the 1,700-year-old Dachang Town submerged by rising waters from the Three Gorges dam project.
The new city has a special group of buildings built with the original materials from the destroyed old buildings. People in Dachang County used to live on farming, but now they are counting on the tourism to have a new life.
