Imports and Exports Situation of Chongqing in 2004 According to the statistics of the customs, Chongqing has added up to3,857,350,000 dollars of total import and export value from January to December in 2003, increasing by48.7% compared with the same period of last year, in which the export value is2,091,190,000 dollars, increasing by31.9%compared with the same period of last year. And import of goods values1,766,160,000 dollars, increasing by74.9%compared with the same period of last year. The import and export value is347,250,000 dollars in the single month of December, increasing by13.8%compared with the same period of last year, in which the export value is228,340,000 dollars, increasing by2.4%compared with the same period of last year and the import value is118,920,000 dollars, increasing by44.7%compared with the same period of last year. The export of the major categories of commodities has all increased, while the export of mineral products has dropped. (Prioritized by the value) the export value of the mechanical & electronic products is1,222,630,000 dollars, increasing by32.1%compared with the same period of last year. The export value of the pharmaceutical & chemical products is284,550,000 dollars, increasing by19.7%compared with the same period of last year. The export value of metal products is164,410,000 dollars, increasing by66.3%compared with the same period of last year. The export value of the agricultural products is154,160,000 dollars, increasing by30.2%compared with the same period of last year. The export value of the light industrial goods is124,100,000 dollars, increasing by22.8%compared with the same period of last year. The export value of the textile products is75,490,000 dollars, increasing by44.7%compared with the same period of last year. The export value of the mineral products is22,800,000 dollars, dropping by13.2%compared with the same period of last year. The export value of high & new-tech products is502,690,000 dollars, increasing by42.0%compared with the same period of last year. The export value of motorcycle products is669,220,000 dollars, increasing by10.3%compared with the same period of last year, in which the export value of completed motorcycles is491,750,000 dollars, increasing by13.2%compared with the same period of last year. The export value of spare parts is177,480,000 dollars, increasing3.1%compared with the same period of last year. The export of the engines for general use exceeds 100 million dollars for the first time, with the export value of109,110,000 dollars, increasing 155.4% compared with the same period of last year. It has become a new growing point of the export in Chongqing .
