Giant sweet potato draws crowds

A sweet potato weighing more than 9.5 kilograms was recently selected as "the king of sweet potatoes" in Jiangmen, Guangdong Province, Southern Metropolis News reported.

The size of the sweet potato surprised farmer Liang, who dug it from his field in the city's Xinhui District last week.

The sweet potato, which has a diameter of more than 60 centimetres, is the largest one to have been found in the South China province in recent years.

With the special sweet potato, Liang's home has become a tourist attraction.
