Fadil Berisha
Berisha has not only been the official photographer for the Miss Universe and Miss USA contestants and winners since 2002, but also regularly works with fashion publications such as ELLE, Vogue and Cosmopolitan. This year, Berisha is also on the judging panel for the final contest.
"It was a tough decision. All the judges have been going back and forth choosing between the final two (the other finalist being runner-up). I personally like the winner, because she is very Asian. I want that China doll, with beautiful features, beautiful nose, beautiful skin, and above all, natural beauty. Plus, she is very young, so she has a longer future. The foreigners (on the panel) all voted for her, which is a good sign for her on the global stage."
Olivia Culpo
Culpo was crowned Miss Universe 2012 when she was studying acting in Boston University. The woman from Rhode Island was considered to have won back the Miss Universe title for the United States, where the competition originated, for the first time in more than a decade. This year, Culpo is also on the judging panel for the final contest.
"She is very fresh-faced, very natural, she doesn't need a lot of make-up. (During the Q&A session) she was also very poised and eloquent. Sometimes, people can have the worst answer, ever."
Jin Ye
Miss Universe China 2013
"The most impressive thing (about Xu Naiqing) is that she didn't give herself up for one second on stage. She held her pose when others were receiving awards, and even during the final nerve-cracking moment when the winner was about to be announced. It's pretty amazing, I don't think I did that well last year."
Xu Jidan
Miss Universe China 2012 and the winner of Best National Costume winner of Miss Universe 2012. Xu currently works at Kan's Miss China organization office.
"I am not surprised at all that she became Miss Universe China. Although she is the youngest, she was always the brightest star on the stage. While off stage, she listens to everyone's opinion and manages to improve herself, day by day, if not minute by minute."
