New-energy cars power up Shanghai auto show

New-energy vehicles are the highlight of the 16th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition, also known as Auto Shanghai 2015. A record high of 103 new-energy vehicles are on display at the event, among which BMW, Mercedes Benz and Volvo all have brought their new-energy vehicles for the first time to China. Meanwhile, domestic carmakers, including SAIC and BYD, have unveiled rival models, with cheaper price tags. The auto show, themed "Innovation for Upgrading", will last until April 29.
