A feline fancier and her 27 cats

Zhang Shiqi, a cat lover nicknamed "Cat Girl", has 27 cats in Huizhou, a city in South China's Guangdong province. Since last year when she raised her first cat, she has spent 250,000 yuan ($38,000) to take care of these cats.

Some of the money comes is from her parents, Zhang said. But as she keeps more cats, her parents can't afford to spend more money on the felines.

To get more money, the young woman has worked as a part-time model. Because of the cats' need, she had to gives up her job.

Now she sells cats via WeChat to people who are real cat lovers. "People can pay by installment and the price is lower than at other pet shops", Zhang said.
