Land Rover debuts its biggest Beijing show

For the first time displays the full range of its luxury all-terrain models

World-leading luxury SUV and premium manufacturer of finest all-terrain vehicles producer Land Rover will make a high-profile appearance at the 2010 Beijing Auto Show today with a full model range that provides Chinese car fans a look at the highest class of all-terrain luxury.

Models on show include the deluxe, graceful Range Rover Autobiography and multifunctional, superbly designed Discovery 4, along with the dynamic and fashionable Freelander 2 Limited Edition and the legendary Defender Limited Edition which debuts in China for the first time.

As 2010 is also the 40th anniversary of the flagship Range Rover, the 2010 Beijing Auto Show is serving as a prelude to celebrations for the all-terrain luxury icon this year.

As the first all-terrain luxury SUV in the world, the evolution and development of Range Rover gave a good annotation to the glorious emergence of Land Rover.

Currently the supreme position of the nameplate in Chinese luxuary SUV market has fully reflected Chinese consumers' recognition of the Land Rover brand.

"The 2010 Beijing auto show is the first time Land Rover has shown its full model range in China, symbolizing the entry of Land Rover's full fleet to Chinese market and reflecting our commitment to bringing top-class products to Chinese consumers," said Phil Popham, global managing director for Land Rover.

"We are constantly increasing investment in China, expanding our dealer network and strengthening our service team to bring the highest-level of services to our Chinese consumers,"he added.

Range Rover

Many Land Rover models will make debut in China today and the one that lures the most attention is definitely Range Rover Sport Autobiography.

It completely reserves the strong all-terrain performance and the most comfortable driving experience of Range Rover Sport, and received a full-scale upgrade from appearance to interior trim, making it the king of Land Rover Sport.

It is equipped with 5.0L V8 supercharged gasoline engine which provides strong power and efficiency. With 510 horsepower and 625 Nm of torque, the Autobiography model can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.2 seconds.

In addition, external appearance upgrade includes the unique and striking front grill, wide side air inlet, the 20-inch 10-spoke wheel hub with diamond finish and the delicate stainless-steel welcoming pedal with the sign of Autobiography Sport to deliver a feeling of dynamism and luxury.

Born in 1970, Range Rover is the first luxury all-terrain SUV in the world with the control and performance of comfortable driving experience, elegant appearance and the unique all-terrain performance of Land Rover.

Range Rover has won outstanding popularity among consumers. The Autobiography version exhibiting in the auto show is the combination of exhilarating power, classics and luxury.

The 5.0L V8 supercharged gasoline engine with torque of 625 Nm is the most powerful Range Rover engine ever. The ultimate luxury experience of Land Rover is perfectly expressed through the imperial exterior design, the exquisite crafting of unique decoration in interior space and the rich customized options.

Freelander

Another model that premieres in China is Freelander 2 Limited Edition. Compared with the ordinary models, Freelander 2 Limited Edition displays more confidence, strength and dynamism.

Through new accessories that match with exclusive 19-inch limited edition diamond-turned alloy-wheels, a unique two-tone interior together with a rear spoiler, colour-keyed exterior trim and matching door handles and mirror casings. In March, the legendary Land Rover Defender Limited Edition made its first appearance in China.

The combination of classic tough mechanic structure and fashionable appearance demonstrates full tension. Defender's permanent four-wheel driving system, 2.4L diesel engine with large turbo that provides 122 horsepower of maximum power and 360 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm, extreme all-terrain performance and the limited number all made it the spot light on stage.

Discovery 4

Another show car Discovery 4 is equipped with 5.0L V8 gasoline engine, one of the world's most advanced gasoline engine with a maximum torque of 520 Nm.

A series of improvements in technology including new suspension components, improved steering system, bigger brakes, better traction control and reinforcement of the multi-award winning all-terrain feedback adaptive system have largely bettered the road and off-road performance of this vehicle.

Brand glory

Land Rover has continuously invested in the Chinese market for many years that resulted in great sales volume.

China is now the third largest market for Land Rover in the world and with the richest product line.

In the fourth quarter of 2009, Land Rover introduced all diesel-fuel products to China and the carbon dioxide emission offsetting program, which demonstrated its full commitment to China's future of sustainable development and was highly recognized by the consumers.

In 2010, Land Rover maintained strong momentum of sales growth in the first quarter, up by 200 percent over the same period of last year, indicating that Land Rover is gaining popularity among Chinese consumers.
