China witnessed iOS applications revenue soar in 2015 and ranked first for iOS apps downloads across the globe, said a report published recently by App Annie, a US-headquartered mobile app analysis company.
According to the report named "App Annie 2015 Retrospective", as Apple reported year-over-year revenue growth of nearly 85 percent in Greater China during the fiscal year, China overtook the US in iOS downloads in the first quarter of 2015 and continued to experience brisk growth throughout the whole year.
"China's iOS downloads grew by 20 percent year-on-year in 2015. This download growth is largely due to strong adoption of iOS devices -- namely the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus -- by Chinese consumers," said the report.
The report also predicted that China has the potential to surpass Japan in iOS revenue within the next year.
