VW 'sports car carnival'

Volkswagen Group China on Wednesday announced it will hold the second China Sports Car Carnival in Shanghai next month when it will exhibit sports cars by all six of its brands - Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Lamborghini, Bentley and Bugatti. It will also include five racing events."We are witnessing rapid development of the sports car market in China, so will continue to better communicate with consumers and provide opportunities for them to experience sports cars," said Markus Nels, director of Volkswagen Sports Car Projects.

Cadillac ATS compact

General Motors will bring the Cadillac ATS compact luxury sports sedan to China in the fourth quarter. It will be imported by Shanghai GM and sold at Cadillac dealers nationwide. Developed on new, lightweight rear-wheel-drive architecture, the ATS will target young Chinese car buyers.

Magotan sales champ

FAW-Volkswagen, the joint venture between Volkswagen AG and China's FAW Group, announced the locally produced Magotan sedan was the sales champion in its segment for three consecutive months from June to August with monthly deliveries of about 20,000 units. In the first eight months, FAW-Volkswagen's total sales exceeded 1 million units in China. The sales milestone was reached two months earlier than last year.

MINI experience center

BMW China on Wednesday inaugurated the world's first MINI Brand Experience Center in Shanghai as it aims to better present its original brand culture and lifestyle to Chinese consumers. The new center reinforced China's priority position in BMW's global strategy after the German company set up its first BMW Brand Experience Center in the world in Shanghai this April.
