The third Wuyi Forum will be held from March 21 to 23, bringing together hundreds of scholars and guests from China and abroad to discuss the inheritance of civilization and the process of modernization. A news conference for the event was held on Wednesday at Renmin University of China in Beijing.
Zheng Shuiquan, deputy secretary of the university's Communist Party committee, said the forum, an important international platform, is pioneering a "one place, one theme" model that highlights local cultural heritage.
"It serves not only as a window for academic dialogue but also a cultural brand that connects northern Fujian with the wider world," he added.
Li Qi, head of the publicity department of Nanping, Fujian province, said this year's forum aims to deepen academic discussion, broaden topics, and encourage public participation.
The forum will also release its annual research report titled The Two Integrations: The Chinese Path to the Modern Transformation and Renewal of an Ancient Civilization. Led by experts from Renmin University's School of Marxism Studies, the report is based on the principle of "two integrations" — combining the basic tenets of Marxism with China's specific realities and its traditional culture. It offers new insights into the development of human civilization.
Journalists at the news conference asked about the report's distinctive perspectives and how collaboration between universities and local governments can help promote traditional cultural education in Nanping.
Previous Wuyi Forums have drawn hundreds of scholars from China and overseas to discuss global development and human civilization. Online readership of the forum's discussions has exceeded 200 million.
