IOC chief Coventry closes Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics

VERONA, Italy -- International Olympic Committee (IOC) president Kirsty Coventry declared the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games closed here on Sunday.
Held from February 6 to 22, the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics featured 116 events across eight sports and 16 disciplines.
Norway topped the medal table with 18 gold, 12 silver and 11 bronze medals, followed by the United States and the Netherlands. China won five golds, four silvers and six bronzes, marking its best result at an overseas Winter Games.
