Tianjin museum hosts Spring Festival event for international students
For Wang Shaoxuan, an Egyptian student majoring in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, the event marked his first Spring Festival in Tianjin. Serving as host and taking part in the preparations, he was particularly moved by a session delivering New Year blessings in different Chinese dialects. "Spring Festival has gone beyond borders," he said, calling it a celebration of reunion and shared goodwill.
Renowned writer and cultural scholar Feng Jicai addressed the students, noting that the Spring Festival has been inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. "Reunion and hope are at the heart of Chinese New Year," he said, expressing hope that international students could experience the ritual spirit of Chinese folk life and better understand the Chinese people's aspirations for a better future.
