Foreign diplomats join Chongqing's New Year market event
A New Year market celebrating the upcoming Spring Festival drew foreign diplomats and residents to Chongqing's Yuzhong district over the weekend.
The event, branded "Galloping into Prosperity — Year of the Horse", took place at the Chongqing International Friendship City Food Street and brought together consulates, food vendors, and cultural groups. The gathering was designed to encourage exchanges between Chongqing and its international partners.
Stalls representing Australia, the Philippines, Italy, Vietnam, Uruguay, Pakistan, Myanmar, and Belarus offered national foods, drinks, and handicrafts. Diplomats from several countries attended and met visitors.
"It's a wonderful experience," said Chaudhary Talha, the vice-consul general of Pakistan in Chengdu. "It reminds us of close unity, friendship, and historical values."
