Beijing offers free two-dose bivalent HPV vaccination for girls

The Beijing Disease Prevention and Control Administration announced on Friday the full-scale launch of a free HPV vaccination program for eligible girls as part of the national immunization plan, Beijing Daily reported.

This initiative targets girls born on or after Nov 10, 2011, who have reached the age of 13. Eligible participants can receive two doses of the bivalent HPV vaccine at no cost, with a six-month interval between doses.

Girls who do not complete the two-dose regimen according to the standard immunization schedule are advised to do so before turning 18, maintaining the six-month interval between doses, according to the statement from the administration.

In September, Beijing launched the free HPV vaccination program. Girls can participate in school-based vaccination sessions or schedule appointments through vaccination clinic hotlines, on-site registration, and online platforms. Clinic information is available on the websites of the Beijing Disease Prevention and Control Administration and the Beijing Center for Disease Prevention and Control.

According to the administration, girls who entered the first year of middle school in September 2025 and who have already received the first dose of HPV vaccine through the city's public welfare program can proceed to complete the full vaccination course.
