China tightens export controls on Japan
China has banned exports of dual-use items, including rare earths, to Japan for military-related purposes. This is a direct response to Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's provocative remarks on Taiwan and her push for military expansion.
The control list spans 168 pages, covering everything from rare earths to nuclear-related technology. This round of controls will affect Japan's weapons research and development, mass production of military equipment, and the maintenance of defense supply chains — in other words, the very building blocks of Japan's remilitarization.
Takaichi is pushing to rewrite Japan's three national security documents, boost military spending and remove restrictions on weapons exports — clear acts of remilitarization. China, together with all peace-loving nations and people around the world, will never allow Japanese militarism to rise again.
