Women's half-marathon draws 20,000 runners to Guangzhou

A women's half-marathon was held on Thursday in Zengcheng district of Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province, attracting 20,000 participants.
The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Women's Half Marathon is the largest women's half-marathon event in the country, according to the event's organizers.
"Winning the championship on the first day of the new year is incredibly thrilling for me, and the atmosphere and scenery along the race track were particularly beautiful," said Wei Chunhua, from Guangzhou, after winning the championship with a time of 1:20:01.
The route was designed to connect the most beautiful natural landscapes and urban features of Zengcheng, passing its iconic urban landmarks, mountains, lakes, and rivers.
