Turing Award winner: Common sense separates AI from human intelligence

In a recent interview with China Daily, Joseph Sifakis, winner of the 2007 Turing Award, noted that human intelligence is built on common sense, while AI systems still lack the ability to reason about relationships in the same way.
"We are far from creating machines that can achieve human-level intentions," he said, adding that without common-sense knowledge, AI cannot truly compete with humans.
