Echoes of Nan Yin

A young woman from Taiwan, China, arrives in the ancient city of Quanzhou not merely to visit, but to listen. She seeks the millennium-old melodies of Nanyin music, finding them in the hands of Ms Zheng Mingming and her ensemble, who are letting these ancient rhythms send ripples into the modern era. Together, they trace the echoes of shared culture—from temple carvings and Mazu faith to the resilient spirit of Zheng Chenggong—discovering how their different musical paths lead to the same profound source. In the end, she steps into more than an ancient courtyard; she becomes a new note within its unbroken historical echo.
