Deeper global cooperation key for green transition and climate resilience, global leaders say

Deeper global cooperation is increasingly seen as central to accelerating the green transition and strengthening climate resilience, international leaders said on Thursday at an expo in Nanchang, capital of Jiangxi province.

The four-day 2025 World Green Development Investment and Trade Expo and the China Green Food Expo in Nanchang, which has drawn senior officials, ambassadors, business leaders, and experts to explore new opportunities in green industries and the emerging green-food economy, will last until Sunday.

Zambia's Vice-President Mutale Nalumango highlighted China's role in global climate governance, noting that the visit to China and Jiangxi had left a strong impression on her.

China's green transition, she said, is delivering visible results, with a more livable ecological environment and tangible benefits reaching ordinary people.

Africa, she said, is ready to deepen cooperation with China and other partners to expand green investment and low-carbon development.

Allex Seah Shoo Chin, a member of the Malacca State Executive Council of Malaysia, told China Daily that Malacca has long been a pivotal link in exchanges between China and Malaysia.

Today, he said, cooperation between the two countries in green development and technological innovation is strengthening, echoing the spirit of the voyages of Zheng He, which boosted trade and cultural ties between China, Malaysia, and the wider Southeast Asian region during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).
