Basha Miao village glows in early winter's embrace

Aerial photos show Basha Miao village in Congjiang county, Guizhou province, bathed in the warm glow of early-winter sunlight. The village's roads, ridgelines and stilt houses gleam brightly along the mountainside.
Known as the last gun-bearing tribe, the Basha Miao residents still carry traditional muskets, use sickles to shave their heads, and perform rituals to honor old trees.
The village gate, old wells, ancient groves and traditional granaries have preserved their original layout and structure.
