Where to shop, stroll, and unwind this autumn in Shanghai

          english.shanghai.gov.cn

As the cool breeze of autumn sweeps through the city, it's the perfect time to explore Shanghai's newest destinations for shopping and leisure.

From riverside plazas and pet-friendly parks to futuristic malls and open-air courtyards, these new landmarks are redefining what it means to shop, stroll, and unwind.

Whether you're planning a weekend outing with friends or a relaxed family day, here are some of the city's freshest spots to discover.

          In Reach

Blending urban life with nature, In Reach shopping center is built around the concept of "natural integration". The open-air complex features a riverside leisure zone, a music fountain square, a pet-friendly park, and even a professional skate park. Fitness lovers can head to the rooftop track and sports zone for a workout with a view.

Inside, diners will find Shanghai's first outlets of Milaojiu Zhejiang cuisine and Gan Man Bei Jiangxi cuisine. At the same time, cycling enthusiasts can explore a "cycling ecosystem" jointly created by sports brands Giant, BYING, and XDS.

          Mira Land

The first large-scale commercial complex in Lin-gang Special Area, Mira Land draws inspiration from a blue whale. The mall's signature mascot, Little Blue Whale, appears throughout the design, while a stunning whale-shaped light installation adds a futuristic glow to the atrium.

Home to more than 200 brands, 60 percent of which are making their debut in Lin-gang, Mira Land offers everything from fashion and electronics to cinemas and supermarkets, making it a true one-stop destination for shopping, dining, and entertainment.

          Xintiandi Dongtaili

Stretching along the historic Dongtai Road, Xintiandi Dongtaili brings modern vibrancy to a century-old street. Beneath Shanghai's largest 6,500-square-meter sky dome, visitors can wander through green corridors, sunken terraces, and open public spaces that blend street life with the convenience of a mall.

Outdoor enthusiasts can visit the flagship store of Under Armour Outdoor, the brand's first in China, as well as Osprey's first Shanghai store. With restaurants and KTV venues open late into the night, it has also become a lively new destination for evening fun.

          PAC Shopping Center

Tucked away in the Jing'an Temple shopping area, PAC is a small yet charming urban retreat. More like a community park than a shopping mall, its red-brick facades and tree-lined walkways create a laid-back atmosphere that makes for ideal afternoons.

Pet owners will love the dedicated Pet Park, while regular themed markets keep the vibes fresh and creative. Don't miss the Belgian Beer Garden event running through Oct 26, featuring 20 breweries and 100 varieties of craft beer.

Yongyuan Bang (Yongyuan Road by CREATER)

Once an industrial backstreet, Yongyuan Road has been transformed into a green oasis in the heart of Jing'an. Its preserved factory facades, lush vertical gardens, and open 2,000-sq-m lawn make it one of Shanghai's most photogenic hangout spots.

The pet-friendly lawn frequently hosts pop-up events, picnics, and creative fairs. During Shanghai Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2026, it also transforms into the venue for Shanghai Fashion Weekend, adding a chic flair to this urban escape.

Located on Weihai Road, Fungseng Commercial Center offers three levels of refined shopping and dining. The first floor focuses on lifestyle and design-driven brands, while the second emphasizes gourmet food, wellness, and premium global goods. The third floor completes the experience with fitness, beauty, and fine dining, creating the perfect setting for an all-day urban retreat.

          • The Beat Zone brings together trendy retail, dining, entertainment brands, along with a special "IP lab" that offers interactive experiences.
          • The Vibe Zone focuses on sports and social life, featuring professional badminton and basketball courts, a swimming pool, a gym, and rooftop soccer and tennis courts, plus sports-themed retail and dining outlets.

As the only new transit-oriented development complex in Putuo district this year, TOP Jin Guang Hui connects directly to Qian'an Road Station on Metro Line 15. Step off the train and begin exploring right away.

TODs are designed to create walkable, convenient, and efficient mixed-use communities with easy access to public transport such as metro or rail services.

The mall features Shidai International Cinema (the first in Putuo), a Hema NB membership supermarket, and Chui Jiangnan Shanghai cuisine. Other major brands such as Huawei, Xiaomi, JD Appliances, and China Gold also make their debut in Taopu town, located in the northwest of Putuo, bringing an elevated retail experience to the neighborhood.
