2025 World Laureates Forum to convene in Shanghai

The 2025 World Laureates Forum is scheduled to kick off in Shanghai on Oct 24, bringing together 25 recipients of prestigious international awards, including the Nobel Prize, Turing Award, Wolf Prize, and Fields Medal, the event organizers said during a media briefing on Thursday.

Themed "Science in Future", this year's three-day forum will also see the participation of numerous academicians, renowned experts, and young scholars from home and abroad. The forum will focus on cutting-edge global scientific topics, exploring major issues, such as fundamental research, technological breakthroughs, integrated innovation, international cooperation, and science and technology governance in the context of future science.

Hosted by the China Association for Science and Technology, the event will feature one main forum, six sub-forums, and over 10 ancillary activities. During the opening ceremony, the 2025 WLA Prize in Computer Science or Mathematics and the 2025 WLA Prize in Life Science or Medicine will be awarded.

Since its inception in Shanghai in 2018, the World Laureates Forum has aimed to serve as a vital link connecting the world's top scientists and a key platform for high-level dialogue within the international scientific community. It has become the most prestigious international scientific conference in Asia, attracting the largest number of top scientists from around the globe.
