VW Anhui's first electric smart sedan unveiled

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology revealed on Thursday details of the ID. UNYX 07, Volkswagen Anhui's first electric sedan, which is set to launch in 2026.

All new models in China must go through MIIT's review and approval procedures before entering the market.

The sedan is the second model under the ID. UNYX sub-brand, following the ID. UNYX 06 electric crossover.

Born in 2024, the ID. UNYX brand aims to add emotional appeal to the Volkswagen lineup in the era of smart e-mobility, while maintaining its signature DNA of quality, reliability, drivability, and safety.

"It's tailored to the needs of expressive urban consumers seeking a vehicle that matches their lifestyle more than ever before," said the company.

The ID. UNYX 07 is the first model to adopt Volkswagen's new E/E architecture, which has been developed exclusively for the Chinese market.

With significantly reduced system complexity, it enhances computing performance and safety at the same time.

This foundation enables advanced intelligent cockpit experiences, driver-assistance functions, and continuous over-the-air updates, making the ID. UNYX 07 one of the smartest Volkswagen models in China.

In terms of dimensions, the model measures 4,853 mm long, 1,852 mm wide, and 1,566 mm high, with a 2,826 mm wheelbase.

Volkswagen said the ID. UNYX 07 inherits the brand's reputation for reliability, safety, and driving dynamics—reinforced by rigorous testing, premium materials, and refined chassis tuning.

"With principles of agility, precision, and individuality, it seamlessly fuses iconic Volkswagen design cues with a futuristic style," it said.
