China to hold gala for V-Day commemorations

BEIJING -- China will stage a gala at the Great Hall of the People on the evening of Sept 3 as part of the V-Day commemorations, according to a press conference on Thursday.

The last integration of the art performance is underway, said Lu Yingchuan, vice-minister of culture and tourism.

Leaders of the Party and state, veterans and individuals who contributed to the War of Resistance, representatives who have received honors and awards, representatives from the general public as well as other guests from all walks of life will attend the event, Lu said.
