30 cities to create human resources agencies for mfg sector

The central government will take explorative steps to incubate a batch of human resources agencies specifically serving the manufacturing industry development, aiming to promote full and higher-quality employment while also shaping a modern industrial system.

Four central departments, including the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Commerce and All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, jointly released a notice recently, which spells out the idea to build a batch of human resources agencies exclusively supporting the manufacturing industry in 30 designated cities in the next three years.

According to the human resources ministry, the 30 designated cities will be recommended and confirmed before July 18. The cities then have to submit their plans to the provincial-level government by the end of September.

The human resources ministry said that the 30 cities should have large-scale manufacturing bases or clusters, mature human resources and services industries, as also richer education and talent training resources.

The notice encourages the 30 designated cities to create new working mechanisms with authorities, companies, platforms and participating industrial organizations; it also pushes for such services to use modern technologies like AI.
