Ambrosetti praised Drago as a pioneer in bridging Italian textile artistry with China's growing luxury market.
"Italy and China are both heirs to ancient civilizations with profound manufacturing, craftsmanship, elegance and traditions. Chinese consumers deeply understand upscale quality, and their appreciation for such products has grown significantly due to China's remarkable economic development," the ambassador said.
Ambrosetti was in China as early as the 1990s, witnessing iconic moments like Valentino, Giorgio Armani and other major Italian brands hosting fashion shows on the Great Wall and in the Forbidden City.
"Chinese consumers are highly sophisticated and have shown a keen ability to appreciate these nuances, which I believe is vital for long-term success (of Italian companies in China)," he said.
