Kane's party postponed by late equalizer

BERLIN — Harry Kane had just arrived on the touchline to start celebrating his first career title.

Then Yussuf Poulsen scored for Leipzig to draw with Bayern Munich 3-3 on Saturday, postponing the party for the Bundesliga leader.

The last kick of the game in the fourth minute of stoppage time cut Bayern's celebrations short.

"I fully feel like a champion, we're just not, yet," Bayern veteran Thomas Muller said.

Bayern is all but certain to win the championship. Bayer Leverkusen can still mathematically catch the Bavarian powerhouse and defend its title by winning its remaining three games while making up a goal difference of 30 goals — if Bayern loses its final two matches.

Kane has been forced to wait for a first major trophy after a career of near-misses and disappointments. The 31-year-old Bayern star had to watch his teammates play without him against Leipzig because of an accumulation of yellow cards.

Leipzig made the better start, and deservedly led at halftime thanks to goals from Benjamin Sesko and Lukas Klostermann, leaving the suspended Kane sitting stone-faced in the stands.

Bayern coach Vincent Kompany evidently found the right words during the break.

Kane's compatriot Eric Dier pulled one back with a header off Michael Olise's corner in the 62nd, and Olise equalized a minute later, after some sloppy play off the restart from the home team.

Leipzig goalkeeper Maarten Vandevoordt denied Leroy Sane, and Leon Goretzka, and Konrad Laimer headed over against his former side, before Sane finally made Bayern's chances count with a fierce shot inside the far post in the 83rd.

Bayern fans set off fireworks as they celebrated, and Kane was ready to run onto the field to join his teammates, until Xavi Simons sent Poulsen through for the final say.

"We're almost champions," Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund said, after what he described as "a spectacle".

Bayern might have to wait only a day, with Leverkusen playing at Freiburg on Sunday.

Dortmund closes in on CL

Borussia Dortmund continued its late season march to the top-four, beating Wolfsburg 4-0 at home thanks to braces from Serhou Guirassy and Karim Adeyemi.

Guirassy gave Dortmund the lead after just three minutes and added a second before the hour, slashing in from close range after some skillful lead-up work from Pascal Gross.

Adeyemi then scored two goals in four second-half minutes to put Dortmund on track for its fifth win in its past six games.

Dortmund, as low as 11th this season, went up to fourth with the victory and will stay there if Leverkusen beats Freiburg on Sunday.

Guirassy, who joined Dortmund in the summer, now has 19 league goals this season. Only Kane has more with 24.

"We're Dortmund, we have to play the Champions League next year, it's not a question. Now we've had some good results, we have to go for it," Guirassy told Sky Germany.

Elsewhere, Union Berlin came from two goals down to draw 2-2 at home against Werder Bremen, denting the visitor's hopes of European soccer next season.

Bremen, hoping to return to Europe for the first time in 15 years, was two goals up after a quarter of an hour thanks to a Jens Stage brace.

Union's Tom Rothe pulled one back with a header late in the first half and Laszlo Benes scored with six minutes remaining.

Borussia Monchengladbach's European hopes also took a hit following a wild 4-4 home draw with Hoffenheim.

Nick Woltemade scored with two minutes remaining to send Stuttgart to a 1-0 win at St Pauli.
