China issues yellow alert for snowstorms, cold wave

By Thursday, the 0 C temperature line is expected to extend southward to areas stretching from northern Jiangsu and Anhui province to southern Henan province. In high-altitude regions such as Huangshan Mountain, temperatures are forecast to drop below freezing.
Residents in affected regions are suggested to brace for bitterly cold weather, strong winds and heavy snowfall. The public is urged to take measures to stay warm and protect vulnerable individuals from cold-related illnesses. Drivers should be cautious to watch for icy, slippery roads and maintain safe distances while staying alert to changing road conditions, the NMC said.
