China a bright spot of economic openness

Editor's note: The World Openness Index gauged the openness levels of 129 economies from 2008 to 2023. It said China remains one of the bright spots in a world witnessing a declining level of openness.
The index comes from the World Openness Report, which is the flagship publication of the Hongqiao International Economic Forum. It was first launched in 2021 and this year marks its fourth release.
The Hongqiao International Economic Forum, which is a part of the China International Import Expo, has been held for seven consecutive years.
