Mega cross-sea passage in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to begin trial operation
The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link, a mega cross-sea passage integrating bridges, islands, tunnels and underwater interchanges in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, will begin trial operation on Sunday, according to the local transportation authorities.
The much-anticipated passage passed construction acceptance in mid-June, marking the successful completion of the world-class trans-sea cluster project after seven years of preparatory work and challenging construction, according to the Guangdong Transportation Group.
Located approximately 30 kilometers south of the Humen Bridge and 31 kilometers north of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, the link starts at the Shenzhen airport interchange, crosses the Lingdingyang sea area to the west lands at Ma'anshan Island in Zhongshan, Guangdong province.
