Changcheng Station, also known as Great Wall Station, experiences more than 170 days of severe weather every year, with winds above force 8 — 55 to 74 kilometers per hour.

Covering a distance of 80 meters from the living area to the meteorological observation station, Niu braved this route every day, regardless of the wind's intensity or other harsh weather conditions.

Enduring the monotony of repetitive tasks and extreme working environment, Niu adjusted to the solitude and always uploaded precise data on time.

"After entering the polar night, with heavy snowfall and most outdoor work suspended, any free time brought about psychological loneliness and anxiety," Niu said.
