Lee Hsiao-Pin, a Xiqu director from Taiwan, has collaborated with Shanghai-based Kunqu Opera artist Zhang Jun on a number of innovative works that combine traditional Kunqu performances with Western theaters and large-scale Chinese music, and ushered a new era of contemporary Kunqu.
