Executives praise expo as significant platform

Growing appetite for trade as firm marks 50 years' presence

Louis Dreyfus Company, a Europe-based merchant and processor of agricultural goods, has participated in the China International Import Expo for the sixth consecutive time.

Under the theme of "50 years of development in China, sharing, co-creation and win-win", Louis Dreyfus Company used the sixth CIIE as a chance to tap into the consumer market in the country.

The company showcased its new plant-based ingredients and freeze-dried coffee powder, as well as products such as NFC — or not-from concentrate — fruit juice and edible oil. Several cooperation agreements were signed to deepen value chain collaboration, strengthen integration within business chains and provide diverse products that cater to the market and consumers.

Michael Gelchie, CEO of Louis Dreyfus Company, attended this session of the CIIE and participated in the parallel Hongqiao International Economic Forum.

In accordance with the strong demand of Chinese consumers for healthy plant-based products, Louis Dreyfus Company has established a plant-based ingredients platform this year, focusing on glycerin, phospholipids, specialty feed and vegetable oil businesses.

It has also set up a global research and development center in Shanghai. During this year's CIIE, the company showcased its range of plant-based ingredients, including new specialty feed protein products. These products improve the digestibility and utilization efficiency of feed protein through new fermentation technology, promoting the healthy growth of livestock and poultry.

Additionally, Louis Dreyfus Company exhibited its new freeze-dried coffee powder to meet the rapidly growing Chinese coffee consumption market. Upgraded packaging of their Mastergold brand edible oil and NFC fruit juice products were also showcased at the CIIE.

As a globally renowned enterprise, Louis Dreyfus Company adheres to the concept of sustainable development. At this CIIE, the company offset its carbon footprint from participating in the exhibition with high-quality carbon credits for the first time, launching a Zero Carbon Booth.

During this CIIE, Louis Dreyfus Company has once again signed trade agreements with a large number of Chinese partners engaged in various sectors such as grain and oilseeds, plant-based ingredients, fruit juice and coffee, to promote win-win growth.
