Jiangyan extends invitation for Qintong Boat Festival

A press conference promoting the 2023 China Taizhou Qintong Boat Festival was held in Shanghai on March 24, inviting tourists from around the world to enjoy the folk gala that will be staged on April 8 in Qintong Ancient Town in Jiangyan district of Taizhou city, East China's Jiangsu province.

The festival is one of the district's major cultural events. Originating in the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279), it served as a ceremony to commemorate war victims around the time of the Qingming Festival, also known as Tomb Sweeping Day.
