Online tax seminar held to promote BRI development

The Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration Cooperation Mechanism (BRITACOM), under China's State Taxation Administration, hosted an online seminar on Thursday themed on taxation and communication on tax payment services. Council members of the cooperation mechanism, observers and business representatives, as well as representatives from embassies of several countries, participated in the event. 

The seminar is part of a series of activities under the theme "promoting connectivity for a shared future", which kicked off this month. These themed activities were launched as part of an effort to promote the high quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative and catalyze dynamic impact of the platform. 

During the seminar, officials from China's State Taxation Administration briefed others about the fundamentals of China's taxation system, the package of tax and fee cuts that China rolled out this year to support businesses and tax incentives that work to help keep China's trade and overseas investment stable. 

This series of activities is expected to last for five months with upcoming events in July and August.
