An English-language contest, aimed at promoting the Asian Games Hangzhou 2022, crowns its champions, Wu Di reports.

As the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 approaches, an English-language contest aimed at putting on a full display of the Games spirit and promoting the culture and history of the host city, region and country has reached its conclusion.

The China Mobile Cup English Star Contest for the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022, hosted by the Hangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee in conjunction with China Daily and China Mobile, concluded on Monday. The Games will be held from Sept 10 to 25.

The winners of the three entry categories are Wang Yuting of Nanjing University, who won first prize in the higher education group; Mao Peirui, who topped the public group; and Bupe Mtambo, who came first in the international group.

Mao, who was Miss World China in 2018, told of how she had once been bothered by her appearance before becoming confident enough to win the beauty contest.
