Documentary shows splendor of Canadian rainforest
Destination British Columbia, which promotes the Canadian province as a tourist destination, recently invited tourism operators, consumer representatives and media to watch the documentary Great Bear Rainforest at the China National Film Museum in Beijing.
The documentary is being shown at the museum through November 2022, offering a stunning viewing experience via an enormous IMAX screen.
The rainforest itself, which covers 6.4 million hectares, is known for its rich biodiversity, ranging from coastal wolves and sea otters to the rare all-white spirit bear.
It took director Ian McAllister three years to finish the documentary in 2019, with difficult shots allowing audiences to closely observe wildlife.
British Columbia is a favorite destination among those who like nature and outdoor travel, due to its long coastline and thick forests.
Hu Ying, China marketing head for the tourism bureau, said in spite of the fact outbound travel is restricted in China due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she hopes avid fans of traveling and nature will enjoy picturesque views of the rainforest via the documentary.
