Disbanding of home-hating organizations benefits HK

On Sunday, the Hong Kong Confederation of Trade Unions held a special delegates' meeting and passed a resolution to disband by a vote of 57 against 2.

In other words, the organization founded in 1990 will come to an end. During its 31-year history, the confederation had never rendered any real service to the workers that it claimed to serve. On the contrary, it urged workers to strike during the 2019 anti-extradition riots, which both hurt their own interests by lowering their income and curbed the prosperity of local society by suspending production.

That's why the Security Bureau announced the confederation leaders' liability to criminal charges won't disappear with the disbanding of the organization. For the damage they have done to Hong Kong, they will have to pay.

Before the confederation, the Hong Kong Professional Teachers' Union had already formally disbanded on Sept 11, while the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China disbanded on Sept 25.

Exactly like rats jumping out of a sinking ship, these organizations jumped out of the chariot of the anti-China political forces in Hong Kong. They know it is wrong to stay on the wrong side of history and those who insist on the wrong deeds will only fail themselves.

It would be wrong to misinterpret the disbanding of these three organizations in Hong Kong society as "oppression". According to the local police, the total number of registered organizations in Hong Kong had reached 37,633 by October 2021, and the absolute majority of them are operating normally, while new organizations are applying for registration; they are legal and they know the law will protect them. The few disbanded organizations are all home-hating ones that invoked violence and played their members against the peaceful order of society, and it is fear of penalty that led to their disbanding.

It's time for Hong Kong residents to see their wrongs more clearly and avoid being cheated by similar illegal organizations in the future.
