China's Foreign Ministry on Tuesday condemned accusations by some US senior politicians that police in Hong Kong have suppressed protesters by using violence, and the ministry reaffirmed that Hong Kong affairs are China's internal affairs and none of the US politicians' business.

Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said in a statement that the remarks by the US politicians provide new and strong evidence that the US is linked to ongoing riots in Hong Kong despite their denials.

Her comments were made as some US politicians, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, tweeted on Monday the Chinese central government is damaging the democracy and freedom of Hong Kong people.

She said Pelosi and McConnell ignored facts, embellished the violent crimes the rioters have made as striving for human rights and freedom and distorted that HK police are enforcing the law in a civilized manner and fighting crime to uphold social order into that they are suppressing protesters.

They also have instigated people in Hong Kong to confront the government and the central government to create trouble, she added.

Saying the politicians are responsible for law-making in the US, Hua stated that "we can't help but ask whether you are are either law makers or law perverts?''

She reiterated that Hong Kong affairs are purely China's internal affairs and US politicians are neither entitled nor qualified to make irresponsible remarks on Hong Kong.

"Just manage your own business. Hong Kong affairs don't bother you,'' Hua said.
