China issues standardized codes for medical services, products
BEIJING - China has issued a series of standardized codes for medical services and products so as to include their information into a database, according to the National Healthcare Security Administration.
The medical services and products include disease diagnosis, operations, medicines and medical consumables.
After the adoption of the standardized codes, medical departments and institutions across the country can easily share information of medical services and products online, making it more convenient for patients to reimburse themselves for medical expenses wherever they receive the medical services.
The administration on Thursday opened an online database maintenance channel for pharmaceutical companies and medical consumable producers to correct and update the information of their products.
