A glimpse of modern art pioneer in Saint-étienne
The Saint-étienne Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art is the perfect destination for art lovers obsessed with modern art.
Established in Saint-étienne, France in 1987, the museum boasts more than 3,000 square meters of exhibition rooms spread throughout the contemporary building – all aimed at showcasing the production of art and technology in the industrial era.
The museum features works by Monet, Brauner, Magnelli, Léger, and Picasso, complemented by sections of historic art, design and photography.
Vicky Rémy, Francois and Ninon Robelin, and the Caisse des Dépots, are some of the high-profile donors to the museum, which today pays particular attention to young artists and new media in its acquisitions.

The exhibition From Monet to Soulages: Paths to Modernity 1800- 1980 has been held in Chinese cities including Beijing, Chengdu and Wuhan last year. A total of 51 masterpieces from its ancient, modern and contemporary art collections have attracted more than one million visitors.
