Life of a travel writer

Traveling around the world is the dream of many people, but for Chang Paopao, a travel writer, traveling is work. The enviable job takes her to global scenic spots, mouthwatering food and decent pay, but the work is not all fun and games.

Chang has been in the business for five years, yet she is still passionate about her job, though taking pictures, videos and writing articles on a tight schedule sometimes wears her out. In order to provide original content all the time, Chang has to sometimes work overtime.

On top of that, promoting her content on social media takes up a lot of her time. Currently, she has accounts on more than 20 social media platforms.

As for those good-looking photos, she said they are shot by her with help of a tripod. "I mostly travel on my own, which makes me feel more and more lonely and depressed, and this psychological problem affects my peers too," she added.

As a travel writer, Chang had to develop such skills as booking cost-effective flights, making itineraries, finding the most popular canteen in a foreign country, and language skills to know about destinations and local people better. In addition, writing and photography skills are important to attract readers.

Chang said she is never afraid of future, as she likes to write, and that she will continue to learn more new things and share her travel experiences in a better way.
