Chinese people confident in nation's future as it's being built on their efforts

HISTORICALLY, the brave and industrious Chinese people have overcome many difficulties and obstacles on their own, and in doing so they have made marvelous achievements that have impressed the world. They will do so again this time. China Daily writer Wang Yiqing comments:

Despite the challenges posed by the trade frictions instigated by the United States, Chinese people have great confidence in the country's future.

Chinese people have the tradition of untiringly struggling and working hard for better futures for themselves and the nation. China has won national independence through countless Chinese people's lives and devotion. After the founding of New China, Chinese people, led by the Communist Party of China, have transformed the impoverished and undeveloped country into a prosperous and strong nation within only a few decades.

Thanks to Chinese people's efforts and the policy of reform and opening-up, the country has become the world's second-largest economy and a significant driving force for the global economy. But the doubts about China's economy never end and predictions of a hard landing are often heard, even though it continues to perform well despite the pressures caused by the global financial crisis.

Running counter to the trend of globalization, the trade war the US has launched against China may have a negative influence on both the Chinese and global economy. But the challenge and obstacles of the trade war may also become the impetus for the country to strive for further development. In this sense, it could also be a special development opportunity, which prompts China to further deepen reform and expand opening-up, enabling it to make greater achievements in the future.

The optimistic Chinese people never fear any difficulties. All Chinese people will join together to participate in the cause of striving for national rejuvenation.
