Meter-scale carbon nanotube thin film developed for better opto-electrical performance
SHENYANG - Chinese researchers have developed meter-scale, single-wall carbon nanotube (SWCNT) thin film, according to the Institute of Metal Research.
The SWCNTs are considered promising for flexible and transparent electronic devices due to their extraordinary mechanical, electrical and optical properties.
The researchers proposed a continuous synthesis, deposition and transfer technique for the fabrication of high-quality SWCNT thin films of meter-scale with excellent opto-electrical performance.
There are no impurities and defects introduced in the production processes.
But the size of fabricated SWCNT films is usually limited to the square centimeter scale, and the opto-electrical performance of SWCNT films remains unsatisfactory, influenced by impurities and defects during the fabrication processes.
The meter-scale high-quality SWCNT films and the devices fabricated from them will pave the way for the development of large-scale, flexible and transparent electronics.
