Many citizens voluntarily donated blood on Sunday as it was feared there would be blood bank shortages, considering the number of injured. The city's blood bank, in fact, is constantly low on blood units.
Lines were seen at several blood donation stations, including those at Tsuen Wan and Causeway Bay. It is reported that the wait time for donating blood at the Causeway Bay station is two hours.
At around 4 pm on Sunday, more than 100 members of victims' families offered sacrifices and performed religious rituals for the deceased at the accident site.
